Eyeshield21 is a shonen manga based on American football written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata.

Story
The plot of Eyeshield 21 revolves around a humble guy and physicist named Sena Kobayakawa minutes that he enrolled in the school Deimon Private Senior High School, attended by his childhood friend Mamori Anezaki, larger than a year. The unique physical characteristics of note are the running speed and the ability to avoid obstacles, catching the attention of the captain of the school's American football team Yoichi Hiruma who forces Sena to join the team Deimon Devil Bats in the role of running backs.
To protect his identity (based on the criterion that the school's other sports clubs to recruit Sena may groped after discovering his athletic skill) Sena is forced to assume formally the role of scout (administrator) of the team, and to enter into field wearing a helmet with a visor (Eyeshield English) green to hide his face and his identity under the pseudonym of "Eyeshield 21." A makeshift training initially to participate in Spring football tournament (held at the beginning of Japanese school) hoping to win games on the strength of their new "secret weapon". But the team, very weak, it is quickly eliminated by the Ojo White Knights, a highly regarded team. Many think that the talent of the current White Knights is lower than the previous "Golden Generation", but members of the team are trying to prove they possess all the qualities to outperform their predecessors. It is during this game that Sena meets the boy who will acknowledge to be his final rival, Seijuro Shin, a talented linebacker.
After Deimon's defeat, the Spring tournament is revealed to be of secondary importance compared to the Fall tournament, where teams compete for the chance to play the "Christmas Bowl", the game that gives the victory in the football league high school. Hiruma, Kurita and Sena regroup and slowly build a real team gathering other misfits and students looking for stimulus, with the goal of becoming champions. The series follows the construction and improvements of the Deimon Devil Bats and its members, as well as friendly matches and tournaments against different opponents, all done in order to achieve the dream of playing in the Christmas Bowl.
